I have been asked by the Queen Alexander College in Harborne to contribute to their first charity gala dinner. They are holding a charity auction and one of the lots will be a Caroline's Cake Company cake!
The details from the college:
'We have a history stretching back over 150 years, originally part of Birmingham Royal Institution for the Blind, we have been an independent charity since 1997. We are a specialist college for people who are blind, visually impaired or with other disabilities. All our students have at least one disability but many have multiple disabilities. For all students, a stimulating environment and personal challenges are key to a successful learning experience, and this is what we work to provide for them.
This year we are hosting our first ever gala dinner and auction, where friends and supporters can come together and enjoy an evening of good food, music and dancing. Taking place on Thursday 8 October 2009 the event will be held at the stunning Birmingham Botanical Gardens and Glasshouses in Edgbaston. As well as dinner and live music, guests will have the opportunity to experience the excitement of a real auction and bid on a range of lots.
We are aiming to raise around £12,000 from the event which will help us continue if our efforts to provide educational and recreational opportunities for all our students to develop their life skills and experience.'
I hope you will be able to support them too....
